To connect the chain to the rain gutter locate the rain gutter s drain hole. Dig a hole slightly wider than the width of your pot and at least 6 deep directly underneath the downspout outlet. If using an existing downspout remove the downspout from the exterior of the house and paint exposed coupling to match the gutter if necessary.
