The living room loop is a 2 8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near salt lake city utah that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. It does get steep here and there but isn t that what makes it a good hiking challenge. The trail to the stone living room can be found along glenwild ave. The hike is popular for it s rock looking like living room furniture hence the name of the trail lol.

The living room trail is a short fairly steep but moderately easy hike to a great viewpoint on red butte overlooking the salt lake valley. The hike was easy to start on the bottom and there are several different route but all route leads to the main route i suppose. The trail is primarily used for hiking running nature trips and bird watching and is best used from march until october. One of the better short hikes to a prominent viewpoint above the salt lake valley it s easy to see why this route is popular most of the year.

Once you climb up to the top of the ravine you will come to. There are several chairs and couches complete with armrests and ottomans. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. It took us about a little over an hour to leisurely maneuver up the trail and enjoy the natural scenic landscape. Cross the street and follow the blue trail straight up the mountain bearing right.
